Fox– Cardi B is reportedly set to make her feature film debut.
The Grammy-winning singer will appear in the upcoming movie “Hustlers,” alongside Jennifer Lopez and “Crazy Rich Asians” star Constance Wu, according to Deadline.
Also joining the star-studded cast will be “Riverdale’s” Lili Reinhart, Keke Palmer from “Scream Queens,” “Save the Last Dance” star Julia Stiles and Mercedes Ruehl from “The Fisher King.”
The movie — inspired by a 2016 New York Magazine story, and written and directed by Lorene Scafaria — follows a group of strip club employees who join together to turn the tables on their Wall Street clients, per the news outlet.
The 26-year-old, who has yet to publicly comment on the news, has been open about her previous career as a stripper.
In an interview with Cosmopolitan last February, the “Money” singer explained how she hopes her own rise to fame will encourage others to respect strippers.
“People say, ‘Why do you always got to say that you used to be a stripper? We get it,’” she told the magazine. “Because y’all don’t respect me because of it, and y’all going to respect these strippers from now on… Just because somebody was a stripper don’t mean they don’t have no brain.”
So these two lovely ladies are gonna be strippers, eh? I don’t hate it. It wouldn’t surprise me if Cardi was doing a little stripping on the side before she blew up, and J-Lo can do anything she wants. In fact, it looks like she’s been practicing for this role for a little bit now, just flexing on everyone by adding pole dancing to her repertoire.
She’s not the best actress but people don’t watch her movies for her acting. They watch them for her, um, attributes.
It’ll be interesting to see Cardi as a stripper. Like I said it wouldn’t surprise me if she has some experience in the past, but with her come up and viral videos, I find it hard to believe she’ll be able to convince us. When she hops up on to a pole the only thing I’ll be able to think of is this:
She’ll go to do an upside down flip and poop will just be falling out of her ass, spraying paying customers like a skunk protecting itself.
Cardi stans and JLO fanatics will flock to see this movie, as will horned up guys from 18-50, so it’ll do well. I just don’t think it’s going to be up for any Oscars come next March.
