In a bizarre twist to the Robert Kraft getting mouth hugs case, Florida prosecutors have offered to drop the charges against Kraft and other named parties in the case in return for an admission that he would have been found guilty had the case went to trial.
What this new report says to me is that prosecutors know their case has holes in it and will be exposed by Krafts high powered attorneys. When they went public, immediately, with Kraft’s name they were trying to draw attention to their case and specifically human trafficking. Which I have no issue with. Human trafficking is disgusting and every measure should be taken to end it. But their problem is the story/case was so young at that point and now we know the reality of the situation, as does the state of Florida, and they are trying to save face.
The human trafficking element has since been debunked. The girls that were forced to perform sexual acts on Kraft were actually the people that operated the business, not people sold into slavery that were forced to give jibbers to rich old men.
Then it came out he was illegally stopped when he left the first night, with a cop pulling his car over and asking for only his license. You can argue Kraft should have known something was up at that point, and you’re right, but it was an illegal stop.
And I am sure there are more facts that the lawyers know and understand that I’m either too dumb or too lazy to know that will be used to further strengthen Kraft’s case.
I doubt he takes this deal as it still is an admission that he did something illegal even though it will not be on any legal record. It would still be on the NFL’s record and used against him when it came time to punish him. He’s going to fight this to the end and this plea deal was the first sign of a chink in the armor of the prosecution, and Kraft is going to pounce.
