A bouncer in New York got his finger bitten off by an angry patron last night. They were able to reattach the finger so he is fine physically. But mentally? Emotionally? BIG blow to that guys ego. And not just that guy, but bouncers everywhere.
Bouncers are supposed to be the tough guys that intimidate you into not being an asshole at the bar in fear of getting an ultimate wedgie and tossed out…literally. But if you get your finger bitten off by an angry drunk? Gotta hide for the rest of your life.
First off, how does that even happen? Presumably this guy is big, and the offender was hammered. I feel like if the drunk grabbed his hand he would have been able to pull away easily. The only way this makes sense is if the bouncer got a little too big for his britches and stuck his hand in the guys mouth like Joe Dirt did with the Alligator.
And if that’s the case he deserved everything he got. You stick your hand in a mouth and that’s just plain disrespectful. You ever have someone pat you on the head to dismiss you as a threat? A hand in the mouth is ten times worse. Just daring someone to chomp down.
All the other bouncers in the area are on high alert now, too. Poor guys have to have their head on a swivel for the finger biter. Bite someone’s finger off once shame on you. Bite someones finger off twice shame on me. People are going to start pushing the boundaries and these guys will let a little more go because they CAN’T be the second guy to lose a finger to a drunk.
