Jason Witten Comes Out Of Retirement- Rest Of America Applauds

Our nightmare is over!

I felt bad for Witten. Every Monday night he would make an absolute fool out of himself then get roasted on twitter for the next six days, only for the cycle to repeat itself. Don’t get me wrong he had no business being in the booth. Guy had no situational awareness, never offered any strategic insight like his old teammate Tony Romo, and came off as… robotic.

There was speculation during the season last year that he was going to come out of the booth midseason to rejoin Dallas that never came to fruition. The feeling was there obviously as he now returns to the Cowboys to the tune of 5 million for the year.

Where does ESPN go from here? Do they go back to a more traditional two man booth with Booger and Joe Tessiitore? It would make sense but Booger wasn’t in the booth last year and the chemistry between him and Joe always seemed off. I doubt ESPN wants their national broadcast to be mocked for yet another year, so maybe they look elsewhere to fill the analyst role? Who could that be you might ask?

Just kidding. But maybe not.

As for Witten, good for him. Guy was as much a robot on the field as he was in the booth. You can always count on him to run 5 yard option routes and be a reliable 3rd down option. The emergence of Deke coupled with Amari stretching the field, Beasley (maybe) coming back, and a more experienced Dak should lead to a good season for 82.
