Bezos off to a hot start in 2019! First he gets a divorce, then its revealed he was cheating on his wife with his friends wife who was going to get a divorce from his friend, THEN alleged sexts are out there about to be leaked by the mistresses brother, and the coup de grace, his second HQ is no more.
I mean, this is a win for New Yorkers, right? The argument against Amazon coming to Boston was that there was just no room. Thousands of people, along with the infrastructure needed, would have caused mayhem in the city. The commuter rail would look like the trains in India on a daily basis.
The murder rate would have spiked because of the “incidental” deaths caused from people “falling” onto the tracks.
But New York? A city that, like Boston, is already overcrowded with short-tempered assholes just on a bigger scale? YIKES! I imagine their public transportation systems would have their own set of laws, something like the purge where anything goes while you’re on a train or bus. Angry Italians and Jews fighting with gentrified Amazon employees would make from great entertainment.
Now that I think about it, I kind of want Amazon to move there. I’d pay a monthly fee for camera access to the trains and streets of New York around HQ2. It’d generate income for the state and let every New Yorker remind everyone who doesn’t live there, for the 1000th time, how it is the greatest city in the world. Make it happen Bezos!
