Humans Supposedly have 17 Facial Expressions to Display Happiness. I Call Bullshit

So science says that humans have more ways of expressing joy than any other emotion. 17 different ways to be exact.

*Insert I don’t believe you gif.*

First of all, we don’t have 17 different emotions. There’s happy, sad, and angry. That’s it. I don’t know anything about the first one, as I am a life long narcissist who consistently has a negative view on literally everything in life. I’ve been alive for 23 years and can’t think of 17 different times I’ve been happy.

This is just another “study” to try and convince people that the world around them does not in fact suck, when in reality 99% of us have morphed into a systematic, routine-based…things. Think about it. We have the same daily schedule 5 days a week, and the other two days we spend trying to forget about the 5 days of the week that are emotional hell. Even when we are spontaneous, it is structured. How can you be happy knowing that nothing in your mundane, ordinary life will provide you true happiness. We get reliefs here and there with vacations, celebrations, etc., but even that isn’t true happiness.

I suppose someone with a better worldview who doesn’t have a lifelong history of depression could think differently, but I am just speaking what is on most peoples minds. 17 ways to express happiness? Please, if that were at all true everyone wouldn’t be a miserable sonofabitch hiding behind the facade of a friendly, “happy,” human being.
